Overview:

The Cyber Complaint Registration System is a secure web application that allows users to report cybercrimes or suspicious online activities to concerned authorities. It streamlines the complaint filing process and ensures proper documentation, tracking, and escalation of cyber incidents.

This project is ideal for final-year computer science students focusing on web security, backend workflows, form validation, and user authentication, using PHP, Java, or Node.js for the backend and HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript for the frontend.

Project Objective:

• Provide a platform for citizens to file cyber complaints online

• Enable tracking of complaints and communication with cyber authorities

User Features:

1. Complaint Submission Form:

• Users can fill out a detailed form with:

  • Name & contact info

  • Type of cybercrime (e.g., online fraud, harassment, phishing, hacking)

  • Incident description

  • Evidence upload (screenshots, URLs, etc.)

  • Location and date of incident

2. Complaint Tracking:

• After submission, users receive a unique Complaint ID

• Can use it to track status (e.g., Submitted, In Review, Investigated, Closed)

• Optional: Email/SMS notifications for status changes

3. Secure Login System:

• Two types of users:

  • Citizens (can file and track complaints)

  • Officers/Admins (can review and respond to complaints)

• Password encryption and CAPTCHA for secure access

4. Knowledge Base / Help Center:

• Guides on how to identify and prevent cybercrimes

• FAQs on the filing and resolution process
